So, I planted onion sets this weekend. There were large and small seed onions in the bag, and I made a tool to help me make holes that are the right size for each onion.
I made it from scrap wood by drilling a hole in the larger 'handle' piece, twisting the
smaller piece into the hole, and locking it into place with a screw.
This tool is technically a dibble, but I will be calling mine 'The Dibbler." It fits my hand nicely.
The Dibbler makes holes in soil. It works, and it cost me zero dollars to construct. My kind of tool.
We sell dibblers at Miller Hardware, but they're for planting trees.
ReplyDeleteMary Ann, I know the tool you're talking about. Planting onions with that would be hilarious.
